only leslie would plan a surprise baby shower smack-dab in the middle of her wedding weekend! she was smart to get across to the other side of the room before i could smack her. luckily (for her, that is), it took me a minute to understand what was actually happening. my poor little mind was so darn confused! and then i almost burst into tears - thank goodness i was able to push that urge aside, or i would have been a huge mess! there are so many thank you's due here!!
- camp girls, at my baby shower, no way!
- scrippsies, why couldn't i spend more time with you!?
(ps next year at reunion i will be able to drink, so watch out!) - high school friends, at both my bridal and baby shower?! means so much!!
- to the BOB stroller crew - beep beep! thank you!
- to everyone who packed gifts and flew to california with them, thank you for flying with extras!
- for the amazing cupcakes that were ordered!
- to those who made the scrumptious food the night before or brought it with them!
- for the vacant house left in our hands!
- for the darling decor
- to the special meanings and thoughtfulness of the gifts! (e.g., the book i read to amy when i babysat her like 10 years ago, handmade quilt, booklet demonstrating how to use the baby wrap carrier)
- to the coordinators - wow
- and to everyone who came to help celebrate baby larkin - or celebrated from afar- it was amazing!!!
i am still trying to grasp it!!
what a special morning! i won't ever forget this baby shower!
ps i am so super awkward opening gifts in front of groups of people, so you guys really pulled a number on me!

Also, I really want one of those cupcakes.
your FACE! hilarious!!
i took off running to the other side of the room as soon as we got in because i could totally tell a punch was coming. but the entire morning was a heart-pounding, hand-sweating couple of hours. both
-jen AND amy were carrying potentially surprise-ruining props.
-we were aimlessly driving through the streets of santa monica to a unbeknown-to-you locale in santa monica; a neighborhood you are pretty familiar with.
-you had the gall to, at the last minute (in my mind), not stay the night with us downtown which temporarily threw me completely off the tracks.
-you HAD to ask where we were going and ask who smith was living with and...can't remember what else, but i was like, "oh my god, dev, shush!". kept having to remind myself that they were relatively innocuous questions and to play it cool.
much more. should post about it, huh? :)
SO GLAD YOU WERE SURPRISED!!
The large photo of me in the group scares me. I could really go for a cuppy cake right now. Those look amazing!!
