This year the easter bunny finally brought pipes some candy: including her first Pez dispenser! She also got a chocolate bunny, glitter bracelet, yogurt covered pretzels, bubbles, new toothpaste and travel tissues.
She knew exactly which basket was hers and which was her brother's, going straight for the Merida pez figure, who is from the Disney movie Brave.
Side note: sometimes when my hair is all frizzy and down, piper pets it and says, "I like your hair, it's like Merida's!" If you know Merida, then you can appreciate that if anyone else said that to me, I might not be so pleased. But remember, we love Merida because she is not a perfect princess.
Pipes was so excited to try Pez, and thrilled after tasting it. I mean, she was arms-in-the-air thrilled.
Graham got a Pez and choco bunny too, I suppose the Easter bunny wanted to be fair, even though babies don't eat that stuff. Hmmm which means the bunny probably wanted mom and dad to have Graham's candy. I'm pretty sure of it.
The bunny placed a new toy from auntie les in his basket, and even went all the way into storage and pulled out our Sophie giraffe just for Buddy! That's a lot of work for a bunny! He also got his first toothpaste, a new sippy cup, and some tissues for his runny nose. Pretty practical there.
After baskets, we hunted the plastic eggs that the easter bunny hid. Can you even believe they were filled with assorted surprises like Cheerios, stickers, small chocolates, pretzels and rub on tattoos? What a rascal, that rabbit.
After egg hunting, we had bunny pancakes. Some with pink batter, that we colored with beets. The color was a little ... fuschia. Pretty much all the bunny pancakes turned out a little (a lot) creepy looking. But we did find our last easter egg at the breakfast table. Papa Frank and Tove also sent big, colorful eggs to open, filled with trinkets, and also sent along markers for piper. She was in heaven.
A successful morning, but we'll try for less scary easter pancakes next year!
