February: Chocolate Covered Strawberry Treat!

We have been teaching Piper to call my dad Grandpa Frank and to call Tove Bestemor (grandmother in Norwegian).  She says Bestemor, no problem.  But she says Papa Frank.  So there you have it.  I guess that's where there name Papa comes from, little kids who can't say Grandpa!

Papa Frank and Bestemor sent CHOCOLATE COVERED STRAWBERRIES for Valentine's Day.  Piper, by the way, has some crazy way of saying Valentine.  I think what she is saying is something like Hal A Fine's Day.

Well the strawberries were delicious and they really blew Piper away. Two of her favorite things in one?!!  That's mind-blowing for a two year old.  Heck, that's mind-blowing for me most the time.  It was so fun to watch her experience this treat for the first time.  So of course here are a buncha photos of it:

February: Feeding Piper.

Seems that this whole boys feeding Piper thing became somewhat of a trend in February.  What??

Do toddlers just like to feed each other?  This must be a thing.

sidenote: when we showed up at school that day, mimi had a gift for piper and it was that dress!!  we had just recently registered piper for  full-time preschool for this upcoming september (we registered 10 months in advance, yes), and so that dress is for when she goes to her big school!

February: Valentine's Day Party

Our friend invited us over for a super sweet little Valentine's Day Party for the kiddos.  Not gonna lie, it was for us mamas too. On the way, Piper was proud to point out every heart we saw.

January: Photos

we spent new year's day at the bonko's

reaching the age of fascination with our laptops, graham became proficient in all microsoft applications

we spent weekends doing a lot of this.

we went to our favorite little movie theater and saw the jack frost movie

 graham got so big and turned eight months old

 and this one turned TWO AND A HALF!!

the men did some manly snuggling

we got sick. we got better. 

we had lots of fun with new recipes this month, including graham who got to try some new flavors too!

and we got some outdoor time with our mild january!

let's do some catching up: other december

first, a couple comments back to folks!
- katherine, it didn't really take us 519 pics to get our holiday card.  i should have done a better job exaggerating!
- leslie, thanks for the feedback on couch location! it's been back to the old spot, and back to the new spot two or three times now :)

now, a hodge podge of december:

i took chocolate dipped homemade oreos to this year's cookie exchange

i was able to make it over to christine & nikolai's slava!

i took piper to see the old movie "white christmas" at the music box theater.  it was preceded by a sing-along led by the big guy himself, and accompanied by a live organist.  throughout the movie, people chimed in with jingle bells and comments a la rocky horror picture show style.  it was pretty cute though.

i thought piper might last half an hour and we would go, but she made it through the whole movie!

about a week later, piper found our duster and started dancing with it and saying, "stisters, stisters" ...

sTisters? what, piper, scissors?  no it's a duster.  but she persisted.

I COULD NOT BELIEVE IT WHEN I REALIZED WHAT SHE WAS DOING!!

she was performing a song number from the movie!

it'd been a week since we saw the movie, and there had been no mention of it since.  

it must have made quite an impact on her to remember it like that.

we youtube'd it and she LOVES watching, singing, and dancing along.
