i have bridesmaids!!

i am very excited to have bridesmaids! i asked three wonderful women to join me and patrick in our ceremony by sending/giving them "bridesmaids survival kits" with an enclosed card asking each to be a bridesmaid:

bridesmaid survival kit

the handy bridesmaid survival kit provides important wedding day conveniences in an appropriately "bridally-colored" make-up/travel kit. every bridesmaid is sure to avoid low energy, stains, chipped nails, blisters, headaches, and more with her kit packed by her side. each kit contains:
  • one pria bar for that mid-afternoon boost
  • tide stain stick - maybe there shouldn't be wine drinking before the wedding
  • nail file for the flimsy nail that has finally snapped - no snagged nylons here!
  • clear nail polish - ok, just in case she didn't get to the nail file in time.
  • band-aids - because those new shoes are just too cute
  • tylenol - though i am sure that i couldn't possibly be the reason for the headache! right!?!
  • secret - strong enough for a man but ph balanced for a bridesmaid

my lovely bridesmaids are:

miss leslie kasahara

(maid of honor and friend since 1991)

miss holly vetterli

(college friend since 1997)

miss christine bozich

(co-counselors in 2000, reunited in chicago!)

i am thinking black, full length dresses.

what a fun way to ask them! i just called my friends... my friend liane texted me to be hers! ha. i think black floor length will be very pretty... and that way you can pick any color flowers you want and not worry about them clashing with the bridesmaid dresses!

black will be elegant the day of but also in the pictures, easy to pair with shoes, hair and makeup, plenty to choose from in black, and everybody looks good in it. plus, seasonally appropriate. good choice.

awww adorable! creativity of such extent is fabulous.

i agree with black...really simple, classy, and hopefully the girls can wear the dresses again depending on details, etc. yay!

expect all of the readers of your blog to copy this too-cute idea when the time comes. L-O-V-E it.

And to echo everyone else's sentiments, the black dresses will be beautiful. Classy, sexy, and as far from vomit-inducing bridesmaid pink as you can get. You should be a wedding planner....once you're done with your own wedding, that is!

Great idea, Devon. Now trademark the name and let's market these bridesmaid's survival kits. We can co-market with Pria and Tide. And have you told your bridesmaids about the nun's bandeau, coif and guimpe that you expect them to wear? See:
